The district did not have a strategic plan before I became superintendent. I worked on the development of the plan for over one year and completed the plan thereafter. The plan was passed in September 2017 and implemented during the school year. All professional development over the previous two years was framed around the plan in an effort to facilitate ownership of the strategic plan throughout the district. This was quite a cultural shift for the district, as there was never a roadmap in place before with respect to aligning decision-making.
The strategic plan was 100 percent student-centered and focused on relationship-building to support all learners.
While Belief Statement One primarily focuses on improving academic outcomes, by design, the other three belief statements are all student-centered to ensure decisions and actions taken are performed so to support all students, families, and stakeholders.
