During my transition to becoming superintendent, I presented a study I conducted for all staff at both schools, the district office, and for the Board of Education regarding a four-month analysis of District leadership structures and roles. The four-month analysis also included a review of processes previously employed, which resulted in multiple failed attempts in developing a strategic plan by the district over the course of many years. As the incoming superintendent, I made a recommendation prior to filling the position that the Board of Education not vote on adopting a strategic plan they wrote that stakeholders did not create. A recommendation was made that I would lead an inclusively constructed strategic plan that would be developed and reflect the perspectives of all stakeholders (the plan was later successfully implemented in September 2017 after a year and-a-half of work).
